ICF Mentor Coaching with Lara

Mentor coaching is an opportunity to look closely at how you coach: to understand what you're already doing well, notice what may be getting in the way, and continue developing the capability and confidence behind your practice.

I work with coaches preparing for ACC or PCC, completing mentor coaching as part of credential renewal, or simply wanting to invest more deliberately in their development.

We'll use your real coaching as the starting point, combining observation, reflection and developmental feedback grounded in the ICF Core Competencies.

And where you're working towards a credential, I'll also help you make sense of the wider journey, drawing on my own experience of progressing independently from ACC to PCC.

The aim isn't simply to meet a requirement. It's to become a better coach.

Develop your coaching, not just your credential.

From knowing the competencies, to seeing them in your coaching

I don't believe great coaching comes from learning the competencies well enough to reproduce them.

It develops through practice, reflection, feedback and the willingness to look closely at what happens when we coach.

We'll explore your actual coaching together: what you're noticing, what you're missing, where you're creating space for your client and where you may inadvertently be getting in their way.

You'll receive thoughtful, evidence-based feedback that helps you recognise your strengths, identify opportunities for development and understand how the ICF competencies show up in your own authentic coaching practice.

I'm not there simply to evaluate your coaching. I'm there to help you understand it, and develop it.

Mentor coaching may be a good fit if you're preparing for your ACC or PCC credential, completing mentor coaching for credential renewal, or simply looking for rigorous feedback that will help you continue developing your practice.

Who I work with

What working together looks like

My mentor coaching is structured around observed coaching, developmental feedback and reflective conversation.

Across our work together, we'll identify what you want to develop, review examples of your coaching against the ICF Core Competencies, explore patterns and opportunities within your practice, and translate what we're learning into things you can experiment with in future sessions.

Depending on the programme we agree, this can include:

  • observed coaching reviews and written feedback

  • one-to-one mentor coaching sessions

  • a personalised development focus

  • practical development recommendations

  • credential guidance and resources

  • support between sessions

  • a final reflection on your development and next steps

The structure provides rigour. What we focus on is personal to you, your coaching and the level you're working towards.

Why mentor with me?

I've taken the independent route through the coaching profession myself.

I built my practice alongside other professional roles, accumulated my coaching experience over time, invested extensively in my own development and progressed from ACC to ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC).

Today, I have more than 600 hours of coaching experience across 70+ clients, alongside specialist training in mentor coaching.

That experience has made me particularly interested in professional standards, not as a box-ticking exercise, but because better coaching matters to the people we coach.

I see mentor coaching as a contribution to that: helping coaches look carefully at their craft, develop their judgement and keep raising the standard of the work we collectively put into the world.

Mentor coaching options

For an ICF credential application or renewal, coaches are required to complete 10 hours of mentor coaching over a minimum of three months, including at least three hours one-to-one with an eligible Mentor Coach. The remaining hours can be completed individually or through group mentor coaching.

You can work with me for your three individual hours, the full 10 hours, or for additional one-to-one sessions alongside group mentor coaching elsewhere.
